Dr. Bertucci, Dr. Thien, & Dr. Truxillo




Dr.Bertucci is a graduate of Jesuit High School in 1968, Spring Hill College in 1973, and University of Alabama at Birmingham Physician's Assistant program in 1976.  A graudate of LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1980 and a residency in Family Medicine at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge in 1983, Dr. Bertucci has been practicing medicine for over 30 years in St. Bernard Parish.  He serves as the Coroner of St. Bernard Parish, as well as the Immediate Past Chief of Staff of the Medical Executive Committee of St. Bernard Parish Hospital.  Dr. Bertucci has been married to his beautiful wife, Ruth, for over 30 years,  and they have 5 children and 10 grandchildren.  In his spare time, Dr. Bertucci enjoys fishing, playing with his grandchildren, collecting antiques, travelling, photography, and sipping as many cappucinos as he can get away with!

Dr. John T. Thien

A long-time resident of St. Bernard Parish, Dr. Thien was born in Vietnam and moved to the U.S. in 1975.  After graduating from Loyola University with a B.S. in Medical Technology in 1981, he worked as a Technologist at Touro Infirmary Laboratory for several years.  He went on to earn his M.D. from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1989.  After medical school, Dr. Thien completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at LSU in New Orleans in 1993.  Dr. Thien joined De La Ronde Medical Center in 1993, and he has been in practice in St. Bernard Parish for the past 20 years.  Dr. Thien and his lovely wife, Linda, have been married for over 35 years and enjoy their two children and two adorable granddaughters.  He is excited to be in private practice again, as he loves the craft of medicine and healing.  In his spare time, he enjoys reading, philosophy, travelling, and doting on his grandchildren.  Dr. Thien is dual board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and he is also fluent in Vietnamese.


Dr. Ryan M. Truxillo

Born and raised in St.Bernard Parish, Dr. Truxillo attended St. Mark Elementary School, then graduated as Valedictorian of Jesuit High School in 1996.  He went on to earn a B.A. in Classics from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2000, and returned to New Orleans for medical school at LSU, graduating in 2004.  Dr. Truxillo completed his Family Medicine Residency at the UNC Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC, in 2007, having served as Chief Resident for the final 2 years of residency. He returned home to help rebuild the healthcare infrastructure of St. Bernard Parish, where he has been in practice since August of 2007.  He has been married to his charming wife Theresa Bertucci Truxillo, for over 10 years, and together they have four beautiful children.  Dr. Truxillo is passionate about family medicine, and he is equally passionate (maybe more so) about the Saints!  He also enjoys fishing, biking, reading, cooking outdoors, jamming to Stevie Ray Vaughan, and playing football with his growing brood.
